Scriptwriting and translations
Yes, I’m also writing for the screen—developing short films, collaborating with directors, and telling stories I believe in. Scriptwriting needs structure, empathy, and clarity, and I’ve been working those muscles for years. I was recently asked to translate a few scripts for BIND FILMS — lucky me, getting to dive into all those amazing stories! I’m now available to help translate your scripts, too. Whether it’s capturing the essence of your story or ensuring cultural nuances are preserved, I bring an ear for dialogue and tone to every project.
work in progress - 10 Days in Italy
10 Days in Italy is a feature that I originally developed during Film Forward’s master class with Kate Leys. Logline: Ana fakes a vacation to impress her snobby friends, but an unexpected bond forms when the teenager next door discovers her secret.
Kut Expat
Kut Expat is a short film script I developed at the Script Academy. Daniël Nogueira is set to direct. The plot follows the story of a lonely expat mother who struggles to connect with her new community until a late-night confrontation with a neighbor forces both of them to face the cultural divide.
Mrs. Templeton
Mrs. Templeton is a short 2D animation about an elegant old lady who spends one night at a luxurious hotel. I wrote the story a few years ago during one of those quiet, introspective days between Christmas and New Year’s. With the collaboration of Roland Lamers, Wijnand Driessen, and our producers at Serious Film, we're now developing the project further. Watch this space : )
Growcodile
Translating Luuk van Bemmelen’s scenario for Weg met die Krokodil (based on the beloved Paul van Loon story) was pure joy from start to finish. Working with KA-Ching Cartoons, I translated the script from Dutch to English—carefully shaping the tone, rhythm, and humor for international audiences. The studios loved it. I can’t wait to see it come to life on the big screen.
Silence of the Tides
I first collaborated with Pieter-Rim de Kroon in 2017 when he invited me to write the script for a commissioned film on golf legend Arnold Palmer. As a longtime admirer of Dutch Light Films, I was thrilled to hear from him, and I was genuinely honored when Pieter-Rim asked me to contribute text to Silence of the Tides—his sweeping, atmospheric portrait of the Wadden Sea.
